Siren FM Website

I was commissioned to create the new website for Lincoln’s first community radio station, Siren FM. The brief was to move the site from an old, static Frontpage-powered design to a more modern, dynamic website that allows each show to have its own section.

The site is based in WordPress, allowing for easy updating (including multimedia content) and multiple users. It requires minimal maintenance with pages such as the Shows page being automatically generated but still showing the presenters and shows in an interesting pictorial way.

The homepage also features an interactive slider for featured content and shows, which is easily updated through the WordPress admin panel.

Each show has its own blog, as well as custom image to be used throughout the site, with provisions for shows to add extra metadata such as custom menu links.

It includes a schedule incorporating Google Calendar (with a homepage section showing the latest shows) as well as an Events plugin to provide an easy to navigate way of seeing local events of interest without having to just read through a long block of text.

There also is a new Listen Live window which uses the new branding and relevant information, designed to look like the UK Radioplayer for future integration as well as using the schedule information.
